EDUCATION & TRAINING

In Scotland County, North Carolina, workforce development and economic growth are driven by a powerful network of educational institutions working in tandem with local industry needs. At the forefront is Richmond Community College, which operates a dedicated Scotland County campus in Laurinburg, delivering targeted customized corporate training, technical certifications, and vital programs like the RichmondCC Guarantee to build a skilled local labor pool. This pipeline begins early through Scotland County Schools, particularly via the Scotland Early College High School (SEarCH)—which allows students to graduate simultaneously with a high school diploma and an associate degree—and robust Career and Technical Education (CTE) tracks. Supported by nearby regional powerhouses like UNC Pembroke, these institutions ensure that Scotland County maintains a highly competitive, adaptable, and business-ready workforce.
